Each year, Animal Ark takes in, provides shelter, veterinary care, training, socialization and other forms of rehabilitation for about 5,000 abused, abandoned and neglected or homless companion animals. Additionally, our nationally-recognized and innovative programs have resulted in the first no kill communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. These programs include: The Twin Cities Pet Fix - provides low-cost and no-cost spay/neuter services for animals throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area. Feline Feral Friends - is Minnesota's first and largest trap, neuter and return (TNR) program for free-roaming felines. Each year, this program alone provides service to nearly 1,000 farm or feral cats. Rapid Response/Disaster Response - Animal Ark's rapid response team has received national recognition for our work in natural disasters and other kinds of emergency response. Put a Stop to Puppy Mills - Animal Ark is working to draft and pass legislation that would allow the State of Minnesota to regulate large-scale commercial dog and cat breeders. Teaching Others - Through national speaking and online webinars we are teaching animal welfare organizations throught the Unites States how they can end the killing of healthy and treatable animals in their animal shelters.
