With the precedent of Robert A Sloan, I've decided to make a portrait of the beautiful creature who was Freckels. Sadly, she passed away one day after I've started her portrait, that's why I would to make a raffle were all the profits will go to BCR.

Freckels was a 17 years old female liger, an hybri of a lion and a tiger, who after a hard life has came to Big Cat Rescue, a sanctuary for abussed and abandoned felines. I've felt in love when I saw Freckels for the first time. So beatiful, and so big...When I knew she had passed away I was working in her portrait, and now I want to make a raffle in benefit of all the big cats there. Because they make a great work with Freckels but with the other cats too, Skip the Bobcat is one good example. So if you can share this link for the help, would be great!!!

    I made it to Tampa to see Big Cat Rescue last week! I didn't see Freckles, of course, but am awaiting the finish of your portrait. While I was there, however, I DID buy a painting that Zabu the tigress painted! Very, uh, interesting! I assume from your beginnings photo that yours will be a little easier to interpret and understand :)

    I didn't realize Freckles had passed away until I read your note! I was looking forward to meeting her in 2 weeks when I visit Tampa. Sigh--perhaps I will be lucky and meet her through your portrait. Thanks for doing this!
