Fourth Generation Fund

You've got financial advisors to help manage your assets, mentors for your career, and personal trainers to stay healthy, but where do you go to get advice on giving back and making a difference in the community?

Fourth Generation is the place to learn about effective and meaningful giving. Whether your from a family of givers or starting out on your own, Fourth Generation teaches you the skills to get the most out of your gifts.

The Minneapolis Foundation recognizes that young professionals are more charitable than ever before but are also choosing to give in different ways. As the fourth generation of The Minneapolis Foundation, this group fosters the next wave of charitable givers to make an impact in our community.

The heart of Fourth Generation is the Fourth Generation Fund. As a contributing member of the Fund, you take an active role in the grantmaking process. From researching organizations, to reviewing proposals and conducting site visits of nonprofits, all members are involved in making an impact on the community.

Contributions by members are the primary source of money distributed to local nonprofit organizations by the Fourth Generation Fund. The more raised, the more goes back into the community.

To increase the impact the Fund is able to make on the community, for the 2010 - 2011 program year, The Minneapolis Foundation will match a total of $10,000 in contributions to the Fourth Generation Fund.

• Gifts under $500 will be matched 1:1
• Gifts equal or greater than $500 will be matched 2:1.

Contributions must be made by February 28, 2012 to be eligible for the match.
