Following the onset of Kennedy's Disease, Ed began the strongest fight of his life. He was courageous and optimistic through every step along his journey. Words cannot express how proud we are of him and thankful for having had him in our lives.     I am very sorry for your family's loss. Mr. Montie was a honorable and kind man who had an infectious smile and generous spirit. Although my interactions were limited and often filled with ill attempts at sophomoric humor, I always found his adoration and devotion to his family inspiring and traits worthy of attempting to duplicate in my own life. Although his passing his unfortunate and sad, those whose life he touched the most have a chance to honor his memory every day by living their lives with honor, integrity compassion, understanding and love. -Lisa & Garret Whitley

    The memory that sticks in my mind most is when we had our first child, Jillian, 7 years ago. Eddie rode to Ohio and literally crawled into our non-handicapped accessible home just to meet her. Through his decades-long fight against this disease, Eddie maintained such an unbelievable attitude and will to live. He will be missed! Love, Karen, Kenny, Jillian and Gavin
