I'm gathering supplies to bring Easter Baskets and new movies and games to patients at Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul MN.

**Thank you so much for donations to date in 2012. Donations are already over $1400 between online and offline contributions. We're so excited for what we'll be able to bring to Gillette Children's Hospital this year. Please keep the donations coming!**

Alanna had outpatient surgery at Gillette Children's Hospital in 2009. Shortly after, she had a follow-up appointment that fell during the week of Easter. Prior to her appointment she decided she wanted to use some of her piggy bank money to make baskets to take with her for children who may be having surgery over Easter or have to stay in the hospital rather than being at home.

That first year she made four baskets. In 2010 she doubled that number.

In 2011 she partnered with Kids For A Better World and went bigger to see how many baskets she could make with the help of others to bring even more smiles to kids who really need them.

She made 35 baskets with donations of supplies and over $300 total raised!!! With the 10 baskets already donated to Gillette Children's, her baskets made enough for them to give EVERY child there last Easter a basket!

Donations for 2012 have helped to buy supplies to make and fill Easter Baskets which were delivered the week of Easter to Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare for distribution.

Alanna worked with the Child Life department to set an additional goal in 2012 of raising enough to sponsor a craft activity in the Spring and to bring new movies and video games for their patient lending library. She was able to do both!

Longer term, Alanna wants to grow her charity and provide baskets to multiple Children's Hospitals as well as find other ways to help make kids smile and feel like they are doing every day things even when they're in the hospital.

Coming in June of 2012 she plans to make summer baskets using sand pails, sidewalk chalk, pinwheels, bubbles, stuffed toys, sunglasses, sunscreen and snacks. She'd also like to sponsor additional craft events for the patient waiting area.

Thank you so much for your support.

(A note from Alanna's Mom): Alanna is so passionate about helping others that it makes my heart beam. To hear her talk about "her own charity" at this young of an age gives me hope that little by little we can inspire our children to take care of each other and make the world just a little better along the way. Thank you for helping her see that you're never too young to make a difference.

*Note* For offline donations, please make checks payable to 'Kids For A Better World' and note Feel Better Baskets in the memo line. We've also added an Amazon wishlist: http://amzn.com/w/2PPZA83EPJ3U2
