Our food bank provides food to local pantries, meal programs and shelters. We are a source of hope for families struggling with hunger.
It all started in 1982, with a bushel of apples from a local farmer; Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin opened the doors of the food bank with a mission to feed the hungry. Thirty years later, Feeding America partners with a network of local hunger relief programs to provide food to families, children and seniors struggling with hunger in our community. People at-risk of hunger often don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Food from Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin helps bridge the gap during this challenging time. Families and individuals that rely on food from Feeding America are often making difficult choices, choosing between buying groceries or paying the rent and buying food. No one should have to make that choice.
Your donation on March 14, 2013 will ensure that people at-risk of hunger in our community have access to food. For every $1 donation, Feeding America can provide 5 meals to someone struggling with hunger. Your $10 donation will provide 50 meals for someone in need. As a privately funded nonprofit, we rely entirely on the support and generosity of donors like you.
In 2012, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin distributed a record 18.4 million meals to people in our community struggling with hunger. Nearly half of the food we distributed, more than nine million pounds, consisted of fresh fruits and vegetables and meat that reached those who needed it most.
More than 330,000 people in eastern Wisconsin rely on Feeding America for food. Our partner programs ensure that anyone in need can access food in 36 counties in eastern Wisconsin.
Your donation makes a difference! Thank you for joining us in our mission. Together, we are feeding Wisconsin’s hungry.
