Big Cat Enjoying a Chickensickle!

Have you ever wondered how much it costs to feed In-Sync Exotics’ big cats?

Well, on the average, one of our big cats eats about 6 pounds of meat per day, 6 days a week.

The cost of our regular meat is about 82 cents a pound (we buy in bulk!) and with approximately 50 medium and large hungry cats, you can see this is a mighty large expense for us, especially since we have several new mouths to feed this year!

We add vitamins and minerals supplements to our meat ensuring the cats' nutritional needs are met on a daily basis. The cost of the supplements is approximately $143 per month.

Our cats are fasted one day per week; during this time, the animals receive bones so they can work their powerful jaws and keep their teeth in excellent condition. Big cats in the wild exercise their jaws and keep their teeth clean by gnawing on tough hides and crunching through bones of their prey. While our meat diet is nutritionally balanced, it doesn't require a whole lot of work to eat. So we make sure our cats receive bones with and without meat attached each week. At a cost of $1 per pound, the bones we provide our animals have to be large and strong enough not to splinter under the pressure of our carnivores’ strong jaws!

We also provide special treats, given out 3 times per week at a cost of $1.25 per pound, to all In-Sync Exotic animals. Special treats are given out as part of our Animal Husbandry Training Program and Animal Enrichment Program (for details about both programs, please visit our website at http://www.insyncexotics.org/Education.html).

While our lynxes, bobcats, servals, and coatimundi (can’t forget Nugget, our honorary cat!) eats less than our big cats, they too have mighty large appetites, craving the same nutritional meals and bones served to our lions, tigers, cougars, and leopards!

So, how much does it cost us to feed just one big cat? Well, it costs us about $10 per day, $70 each week, or $280 per month (cost does not include the additional expense of special diets or medications for our senior animals or cats under veterinary care)!

As you can see, it’s rather expense to feed just one big cat per day, but we believe our cats deserve a special diet to ensure they remain healthy, happy and strong! But we cannot feed these cats without your help!

Won't you please consider making a generous gift today; helping us feed the In-Sync Exotics cats for as many days as you feel financially comfortable? No donation is too small; even one day covered helps us feed a precious animal.

We humbly thank you in advance for helping us put food in our cats’ dinner bowls tonight!
