WHAT: FEED THE NEED - It will be a “Taste of the Town” type of event. Individuals would make a donation and be admitted to the event where they can sample “bites” or small servings of food from local restaurants and members of the community. Proceedsfrom the fundraiser will be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank serving Northern Virginia includingArlington County and Alexandria.

WHY: The number of homeless in Arlington has risen 12 percent in the past year; in Alexandria, 11 percent.
In Northern Virginia 260,000 people are in the ranks of the working poor and are at risk of hunger. In theentire state, more than 10 percent of the population is food insecure.
