If we can build the FEED Kitchens...

REAP Food Group will have a permanent home in which to process locally-grown fresh, fruits and veggies served to our school children, sustaining the Farm to School Snack program which serves the most economically-challenged elementary schools in Madison. Kids will eat red peppers, kohlrabi, butternut squash, and many other fruits and veggies, some for the very first time. Once FEED is built, our schools will be able to purchase minimally-processed, locally grown produce for their new salad bars, giving kids healthy lunch choices.

“When I first started with REAP Food Group, I was shocked that there were children in our schools who had never eaten a green salad!” remarked Sarah Elliott, REAP Food Group Farm to School Program Manager.

FEED Kitchens, with 5 community commercial kitchen spaces will expand production of healthy foods for everyone. We will be self-sustaining when open. We have the plan, the place to build it and almost all the funds needed to break ground on March 1, 2013.
