I grew up with birds. At the time I did not know but several of my parrots in Peru were probably introduced to the city illegally. They died a couple of years after my dad bought them.

Now, I live in Houston, Texas. I am the mother of a baby Green Cheek Conure born in captivity. His name is Lupe.

Because I am very sensitive to the current problems parrots face nowadays, I am dedicating the 13.1 miles (21.08 kilometers) of my run to them. Please, help me collect money for the World Parrot Trust.
