Emily Richardson - Global Village Kenya

In May, eleven students from the University of Minnesota campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, including myself will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya to build homes for Habitat. The Kenya affiliate focuses on eliminating poverty housing and homelessness through housing microfinance projects, eliminating urban slums and by resettling internally displaced persons. Our group will work alongside Kenyans in the community, as well as fundraising to build homes and advocating for improved housing and quality of life.

Right before the trip I will be graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Architecture and a Housing Studies Minor. My academic focuses correlate with this trip and with Habitat's mission. I have been a member of Habitat throughout my undergraduate career. Please help me in raising awareness for housing issues.
