I was only a toddler when I learned the word "Tzedaka." Whether it was my Jewish education or my Jewish philanthropist mother that drilled the importance of it into my head, I do not know. But what I do know is that I have grown up in a way with tzedaka a prominant part of my daily life. Every friday night, at the family Shabbatt, a tzedaka box is passed around the table. Everyone donates a quarter while making a wish to make the world a better place: Tikkun Olam. But my giving of tzedaka is not limited to Shabbat dinners. Every week I donate a thirtd of my allowance to a non-profit of choice. I even have my own Teen Philanthropical fund which, at big events, I request donations to in lou of gifts. My life is filled with constant reminders of helping those who are less fortunate, and I hope I have inspired you to do your part in helping me and my fabulous Teen Foundation board collegues make our mark. Every penny means the world!
