Team Running for Cover is running the 2013 Boston Marathon to raise funds to support MFNE's mission of education, prevention and support.
This spring I will be running the 2013 Boston Marathon for the Melanoma Foundation of New England as part of Team Running for Cover. Running has been a huge part of my life for many years and I have dreamed of running Boston for as long as I can remember.
It is such an honor to be able to be participate in such an amazing event and even more so to run for a charity that means so much to me. For those of you that don't know, my grandfather, who was a phenomenal sprinter in his younger days was diagnosed with Melanoma several years ago. Thankfully, he is a survivor.
I am running 26.2 miles on April 15th for my grandfather, Thomas McHugh, who has made such an incredible difference in my life, for one of my girlfriends who was recently diagnosed with the disease, and for my other grandfather Ed Longe, who had another type of skin cancer.
I have committed to raise $5,000 to support Melanoma research and help reduce incidents of Melanoma in New England and would love if you could help me reach my goal.
I hope to see you all in Boston on April 15!
