Elgin High School's "Next Generation of Global Leaders" represents a group of 7 globally-minded students who want to engage current issues.

Several EHS students in Mr. Devine's International Relations class heard about a Global Student Leaders Summit that met in Costa Rica in April, 2013. A quick check of the conference's updates on the web inspired us to pursue an opportunity like it during the next school year.. . And we've found it! In March, 2014, high school age students will meet in Shanghai, China to grapple with globalization. We believe that accelerated global interactions have great potential that are accompanied by real problems. We want to come to terms with globalization because we believe it is the trend that will most broadly impact our generation and we want to prepare to lead the way. We're just trying to figure out how to get to Shanghai. Don't get the wrong idea. . . we're ready to work hard, plan ahead and pay what we can, but we need some partners who believe in us. Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, "We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." We challenge you to build us and the future by spreading the word about us (www.facebook.com/elginhighschoolsnextgenerationofgloballeaders)

and donating to our trip fund. It's a tax deductible investment!
