A matching grant opportunity for donations in support of the elementary expansion to a second classroom
Life is always busy in the Elementary classroom at Sunny Hollow. Isaac and Booth write in their storybooks, exchanging ideas, listening to each other's stories and admiring each other's drawings. Brooklyn and Nora head down the hall to nurture an hibiscus tree with water and love. They are waiting for blooms so they can study and draw the parts of the flower. Back in the classroom, Patrick and Andy learn that Mount Olympus on Mars, the largest volcano known to science, is three times the height of Mt. Everest. They find out from a Mount Everest book in the classroom that Mt Everest is 29,035 ft. Now the fun begins as they decide to use that information to calculate (a shared passion) the height of Mt. Olympus in feet, inches, yards and miles. The Montessori elementary classroom gives children the universe. It is no small task but then again, these children have no small thirst for knowledge and understanding. Sunny Hollow's elementary program is growing. Robinhood Corporation has generously donated $2,000 to a matching grant in the hopes it will inspire contributions to the construction of the second classroom. Between now and February 15, donations to the elementary expansion project will be matched up to $2,000. This matching gift could bring $4,000 to the new classroom, enough to fund many of the materials needed for the classroom. Help us expand this program to provide more children with the chance to follow their interests and discover the universe. Donate today!
