Educate Girls in Rwanda
A project of Project Akilah
Project Akilah provides young women with the skills and training to find meaningful employment, lifting themselves and their families from poverty.
Our training and leadership institute is a unique education model that matches the needs of a growing economy with well-trained, technically savvy women eager to contribute to Rwanda's future.
Our first class of students will arrive next January, so 2009 is an exciting and busy year at Project Akilah. Every dollar brings us closer to opening our doors to young Rwandan women who are excited about their education and future.
The Ministry of Education has generously donated an old school for Akilah to renovate and operate. Located on 85 acres in Mayange, Rwanda the old school buildings and classrooms will be repaired and filled with books and supplies before the 2010 school year.
Your donation will support the renovation, new construction, curriculum development, and hiring of teachers at Project Akilah's institute in Rwanda.
