Eco Education is a non-profit focused on providing environmental education to students in the Twin Cities metro area. We’ve served over 150,000 students since our founding in 1991. Our innovative approach to environmental education addresses the environmental concerns of urban students. We have two core programs: Through our City Connections curriculum, students learn more about their urban environment in Minneapolis and St. Paul. With Urban Stewards, students learn about environmental issues effecting to their communities and choose an issue to address through a service-learning project. Additionally, our Eco Outreach program offers environmental education presentations through a network of environmental speakers. And, our City Trek teacher professional development workshops provide hands-on environmental education teaching strategies. Your donation will help provide teacher professional development, curriculum materials, and field trips which engage urban youth in hands-on environmental education. Through our programs, students plan and carry out action projects to improve their urban environment, and they connect with their communities through authentic interactions. These experiences develop students' problem solving, critical thinking, research, communications, and leadership skills and have a positive impact on our urban communities and the environment.

Terri Banaszewski Eco Education does wonderful environmental training to urban students in our community. Giving younger generations the tools to keep our community flourishing for years to come provides strong mentoring and stewardship messages to those that participate.
  5. Barry Greenwald
Barry Greenwald The Eco Education staff has opened the eyes of my students at Harding High School in St. Paul to the many connections among their lives, the urban environment in which they live, and the larger global environment. In addition, our partnership with Eco Education has helped our environmental science students realize that they can be a force of positive change in the world. Eco Education is an antidote to the apathy that we see so much of today.
