The Issue Our partner organization, Crear, works with people with limited resources in the rural communities surrounding Samara Beach, Costa Rica. Recently there was an earthquake that damaged the hospital in the community.

Our Solution Crear offers a variety of innovative programs focusing on academics, environmental consciousness, health, and socio-cultural development. Nourish students will help the community implement the hospital restoration project that will aid with repairs and help to create a fully functioning hospital in the community.

The Long-term Impact The hospital restoration project will result in long-term use of the community hospital. Additionally, the community garden initiative will provide nutritious options and will serve as a tool to educate the children about the environment and nutrition. This knowledge will help the community lead healthier lifestyles. Field and park restoration will improve recreation opportunities and include a recycling initiative to improve waste disposal in the community.
