Lift Disability Network is committed to Elevating Life in the Disability Family

Lift Disability Network is focused on Elevating Life in the Disability family. This summer we are doing just that with our first ever Breakaway camp. But before we can get there, we need your help! On June 18th we are hosting the 2011 Lift Disability Paddle Challenge.

Just six miles across Lake Apopka will help make a difference in the lives of families who are living with disabilities. Imagine hearing the words, “Your child has a disability” or receiving a call from your son’s college informing you that he’s had a schizophrenic breakdown or having a car accident and waking up in the hospital unable to walk. These things happen to people every day.

Since its inception Lift Disability Network (Lift) has focused on Elevating Life in the Disability Family. It has been this organization’s resolve to place emphasis back on "Life" by refusing to allow disability to steal the attention. At Lift we are a people, a family with a purpose to give the love of Christ through our faith and friendship. Our teams of volunteers, donors, leaders, and staff have a history of great compassion and accomplishments in extending Christ's love to this community. Lift has what is needed for the disability family to rise above the limitations.

Breakaway – A Lift Family Experience is a five day family retreat designed to provide relaxation, recreation and spiritual renewal for the disability family. On July 6, 2011, families engaged by disabilities will arrive to a week filled with pampering, water activities, arts & crafts and many recreational options. Every day is capped with a family event like a barn dance, luau or talent show.

Our Spring Paddle Challenge is to provide families an Escape to Breakaway. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to provide scholarships and support programming. Your gift is what will make the difference. Disability has created isolation, fatigue, poverty and hopelessness in these families. Lift Disability Network through Breakaway creates opportunities for relaxation, recreation and spiritual renewal. You create change by joining the challenge.
