I am running the Disneyland Half Marathon in September while raising money for the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research.

I am running in honor of Avalon. I met Avalon while she was undergoing chemotherapy for ALL. Her smile and love of life was contagious. While Avalon was undergoing chemo, I was walking my son through the last days of his life. Avalon would come us often even though she was coming from chemo sessions. She brought us such joy during her visits. Avalon acheived the goal of going into remission and later being officially cancer free but not without permanent damage was done to her little body from the harsh chemotherapy treatments.

Avalon is a 7 year old Princess warrior! She was diagnosed with leukemia at 17 mo, received chemo for more than 2 years, and remains in remission. Avalon has brain, GI, neurologic, and musculo-ske​letal damage from chemo. Avalo​n has intracrania​l hypertensio​n as a result of chemo. She has had multiple brain surgeries and has a VP shunt, LP shunt and permanent holes placed in her skull.
