A project of J B SPEED ART MUSEUM
The Speed Art Museum is being transformed into a destination that will put Louisville in the national spotlight. Be part of the change.
Substantial in scale and even more remarkable in design and potential, the expansion and renovation project will bring the Speed Art Museum’s total space to 200,000 square feet.
A transformed Speed opens the door to a changing and growing community.
The changes now happening at the Speed will create unprecedented opportunities for Louisville and beyond:
Be part of the most notable art movement in Louisville history.
The Speed’s initiative to transform itself through art, innovative programming, architecture and landscape design builds on the original plans for the museum. When the Speed was founded nearly a century ago, philanthropist Hattie Bishop Speed worked with Louisville architect Arthur Loomis to execute a clear and simple vision: Create an exceptional facility, place it in a beautiful setting, fill it with wonderful art and open its doors to everyone.
With your help, the Speed Art Museum will bring this vision to life through world-class exhibitions and high quality programming. Your gift strengthens the Museum’s endowment and ensures the future of the Speed for generations to come.
We look forward to Changing Speed with you.
