Dollar Day for Robin McKay
MHS Dollar Day for Robin McKay fundraising for MAGNOLIA HEIGHTS SCHOOL INC
The MHS Class of 1992 is accepting donations to be given to the iMHS 1:1 Initiative in honor of our classmate Robin McKay.
A LITTLE ABOUT ROBIN MCKAY
Robin McKay began her education at MHS in 1979 as a kindergarten student at the Little Red Schoolhouse. She completed her education by graduating in 1992. While at MHS she participated in various student activities and was a multiple year letterman in basketball and track. Robin was one of three McKay children educated at MHS over a nineteen year span. Her father Preston McKay was a long time school board member, and her mother Evelyn McKay was a continual conributor to school activities, fundraisers, work sessions, and teachers assistant over the course of the nineteen years. The McKay family tradition at MHS still continues today with the current enrollment of Robin’s niece and nephew and the upcoming enrollment of another niece. Her experience and education at MHS was essential in preparing her for the challenges of life that awaited her after graduation. In 2006, Robin was diagnosed with breast cancer. From the start of her initial diagnosis, Robin exemplified the virtues that were instilled upon her at MHS. Robin faced each day with relentless courage and perserverance. In March of 2012, Robin passed away after a long courageous and defiant battle with her disease.
A LITTLE ABOUT DOLLAR DAYFOR ROBIN MCKAY
This year is the 20th reunion of the MHS Class of 1992. Because of Robin’s contributions and support to the lives of so many, her fellow classmates have chosen to honor her at this year's homecoming celebration.
The MHS Class of 1992 is simply asking for everyone who attends school on Friday, September 28, 2012, and those in attendance at the homecoming football game that evening to donate so that a gift can be given to MHS in the name of Robin McKay. All money raised will go directly to the iMHS 1:1 initiative. You may donate a single dollar at several convenient collection points at the school during the day, or at the game that night. Feel free to make larger contributions to the gift as you see fit. The dollar day event will help the Class of 1992 to acknowledge and honor the sacrifices and contributions that people like Robin make to foster and continue the tradition of excellence at MHS.
Please join with the Class of 1992 in this opportunity to honor such a wonderful person and show our love and appreciation as an alumni class and piece of a greater school family to our alma mater.
