Raising money for the families of officers killed in the line of duty.

I have been a police officer for over 25 years. I have had my share of close calls and have been to funerals of many friends, co-workers, and officers I have never met. In 2006, I lost a close friend, Cpl. Christopher Metternich, EOW August 14th, 2006. It affected me greatly and I really wanted to do something in his memory. I heard of the C.O.P.S. Walk 2009 and in its pages I found something I could do to keep his memory alive and at the same time help other families who had lost their loved ones in the line of duty.

I participated last year for the second time and had a wonderful time once again. My goal for this year is at least $5000 and I'm inviting you to help me! I promise I will walk every mile, humbled by what these officers freely gave. I have been blessed many times over by this event and I know you will be too!
