DISCOVERY GATEWAY

Originally founded in 1978 as The Children's Museum of Utah, in 2006 we relocated and became Discovery Gateway children's museum. We introduce children and their families to the arts and sciences, as well as social, emotional, and physical development. In addition to our hands-on, educational exhibits, Discovery Gateway offers programs designed to encourage creativity, spark imagination, and help children develop basic skills needed for success in school and life.

Since opening in our new location in 2006, 1.5 million visitors have explored Discovery Gateway. During our last fiscal year (July 2010--June 2011) alone, our community outreach programs reached 35,267 people, our statewide science outreach program served 44,907 fifth grade students and teachers, and we welcomed 291,530 visitors—including 58,708 people who received free museum admission and 7,739 visitors with Title I or Head Start groups that participated in our sponsored admissions, sponsored science field trip, or transportation scholarship programs.
