A non-profit organization aiming to eliminate the thirst and disease that plagues third-world communities by giving clean, accessible water.
Dig Deep started in May of 2008. We are a non-profit organization that aims to provide underprivileged communities across the world with water systems, latrines, and hygiene education. Our first goal was to raise $10,000 to build 12 public water tap stands in rural Ethiopia. We reached this goal in May 2010 and set a second goal of $10,000 to build another water system in Ethiopia. We reached this second goal in May of 2012.
Our current goal is $4,200 to build a water system and latrine system in the urban slums of Bangladesh. For more information please visit our website (www.operationdigdeep.org) and read about the water situation in Bangladesh (http://operationdigdeep.org/home/bangladesh_water_hygiene_and_sanitation).
To earn this money, we sell merchandise with Dig Deep-designed graphics. We also raise money with many exciting fundraisers and an annual Walk for Water.
We have guest lectured at Seattle University, spoken at several youth leadership events, and are recipients of the National Philanthropy Day's 2010 "Outstanding Young Activist" award.
