Raising money to free women from sex slavery, in honor of Charles Dickens, who did similar work in his own time.

2012 is Charles Dickens's bicentennial year. To celebrate, fans are raising money for causes he cared about. One of those causes was saving women from prostitution. That's why I'm raising funds via a readathon for the Somaly Mam Foundation, which rescues women and girls from sex slavery in Cambodia. You can give a one-time gift, or pledge an amount -- say, 50 cents -- for every chapter of Dickens that I read this year. For more information, go to http://dickensblog.typepad.com or http://www.somaly.org.
