My goal is to raise $1,000 for my Alternative Break trip to Ghana this Winter!! Every donation counts :)
This past March I traveled to La Garita, Nicaragua on an Alternative Break trip through the University of Maryland Hillel in conjunction with American Jewish World Service. We were challenged physically and emotionally as we built a kitchen with a Non-Governmental Organization that focuses on women's empowerment and donates scholarships to children for schooling. I was so inspired by each villager's story and the happiness that enveloped the community.
This experience sparked a desire within me to continue advocating for social justice on a global level. I am now participating in another Alternative Break trip this Winter to Ghana with AJWS. We are working with an organization called Challenging Heights, which provides an education to children who were previously enslaved and experienced horrific forms of child labor. Our goal is to build the first permanent structure of a classrom inside the children's school. This trip is quite costly, each participant must pay $2,500. We hope to decrease this price so that no one will feel the weight of a financial burden. This can only be made possible by donors like you. Every donation counts!
Thank you, in advance, for supporting my lifelong goal of Tikkun Olam - Repairing the World.
