This will be my very first time participating in a mission trip.
Each year Gordon students travel to Tijuana, Mexico over winter break, nurturing the long-term relationship between Gordon College and the community in Tijuana.
During past trips, participants have worked with La Casa de la Esperanza orphanage, as well as with churches in La Planicia and El Pipila. The most recent trips have been to La Casa de la Esperanza orphanage ministering to the children and workers. Students run a VBS program for the children, and spend time on work projects like building/repairing, painting, cleaning, and renovating various facilities.
This year, the team will spend a few days in San Diego, California, doing construction work with Habitat for Humanity and then go to Mexico to help out at the orphanage. I have personally committed myself to several training sessions and small-group meetings that will prepare myself along with the team for the experiences we’ll have in Mexico. Please know that prayers will be a high priority for my teammates and me. Also, any financial help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your willingness to support me and I look forward to sharing my experience of growth with you!
