Debra S. Fish Early Childhood Resource Library

In 1997, RCC formally established the Debra S. Fish Early Childhood Resource Library, named in honor of an extraordinary champion of early childhood. The library is accessible to all who come to RCC for trainings, consultation and meetings. The library is accessible throughout the state for anyone with a local library card, free of charge. The library’s singular focus on early childhood is unique: it is the only public resource library in the state of Minnesota that focuses exclusively on this topic. The collection currently consists of over 4,000 items, including early childhood resource books for adults, children’s books, story kits, DVD/videos, and periodicals. The collection contains materials in seven local languages spoken by early childhood professionals and community members, including Hmong, Somali, and Spanish. The library also contains two computer workstations connected to the Internet and to a printer, and one TV/VCR/DVD viewing station for previewing videos.
