This fundraiser is on behalf of Day One, a non-profit organization, to help them prevent and treat substance abuse in Maine's youth.
This year, on Saturday, August 6, 2011, the TD Bank 10K Beach To Beacon Road Race will make it's way along the coast of Cape Elizabeth, Maine for 6.2 miles, ending at the Portland Head Light. The race was founded in 1997 by 1984 Olympic Gold Medalist in the Women's Marathon, Joan Benoit Samuelson. Started as a small road race long ago, today the race holds over 5000 runners, including runners from over 20 countries, as well as Olympic medalists.
Day One is the beneficiary of the TD Bank 10K Beach To Beacon Road Race for 2011. The organization operates out of South Portland, ME and has worked with individuals, schools, and families, for over 38 years, to help prevent substance abuse in the youth and teen population of Maine. This nonprofit organization has made excellent strides in reducing substance abuse in the youth, through treatment and education of our schools and children. But there is always room for improvement!! This year, I will be running the Beach To Beacon Race on behalf of Day One. I have willingly agreed to make a controbution to their organization by setting up a fundraiser. So please, if you would like to make a generous donation to help prevent and treat substance abuse through Maine's youth, I ask you to do so by contacting myself, David Kananowitz, directly in person, or you may make a donation on this page. All donations are secure, tax-deductible, and graciously appreciated.
Thank you for your contributions.
Sincerely,
- David Kananowitz
