Help Davidson Middle School students realize their dream of performing in full marching band uniforms. All we need is $7,500.
Davidson Middle School in San Rafael, CA has started a new marching band. It’s the first ever for our school and it’s currently the only marching band in our county.
When students come in to Davidson, most of them have never played a band instrument before. But they leave here being able to read music, to play at least one instrument well and to play all sorts of musical styles. And they’ve been a part of an award-winning program that’s respected all over the Bay Area and Northern California.
These kids work hard every day – coming in early in the morning, at lunch, after school, even over the summer – not just to learn their music, but to master the difficult and complicated process of marching and playing together.
Davidson’s marching band is very good. But the band needs uniforms in order to participate in competitions and events. It’s not right to ask the marching band students to go out there and perform without the basic necessities. These kids are winners, and we want them to feel like winners when they perform.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
The band has raised $4,500 so far, but needs another $7,500 to pay for the rest of the uniforms and to purchase marching band hats and other accessories. Whatever you can give will go directly to cover the remaining cost of the uniforms.
Thank you for supporting these 7th and 8th graders in their drive to be the best that they can be!
