A free event to celebrate humanity, science and rational thought, held annually in Moscow, ID and Pullman, WA.
Every year Darwin on the Palouse presents a variety of renowned speakers, in an effort to provide an educating and enlightening experience. Our goal is to promote scientific thought and to create a strong community of rational thinkers – and we need your help to do it!
Darwin on the Palouse is held in two college towns only 10 miles apart, giving us the unique opportunity of being able to hold events at the University of Idaho and Washington State University, and share our love of science and reason with the diverse communities in our area.
As you can imagine, holding the nation’s premiere Darwin Day event can get expensive, but we’re committed to keeping the event free to the public each year. That’s where you come in - your donation will go directly to covering speaker fees, transportation, venue rental, printing, and advertising. All organizers and volunteers for the event are unpaid.
We also have rewards for our donors! Did you come last year but didn’t have cash on hand to get the T-shirt? No worries! Donate $20 or more and we’ll have one waiting for you at any of this year’s events (limited quantities). Donate $30 or more and you’ll get a free shirt with this year’s design (to be announced).
We also have a lot of other plans up our sleeve for this year, to make this event larger with a variety of events that appeal to all ages, from activities for local families with young children, to social events for visiting student groups. More details to come – but we need your donations to pull it off!
A list of all rewards:
$10 – Species Level: you are truly an evolved social animal and can sleep well knowing you are supporting a great cause.
$20 – Genus Level: 2013 Finches T-Shirt.
$30 – Family Level: 2014 Fox T-Shirt.
$125 – Phylum Level: Reserved front row seating at any of next year’s events.
$500 – Kingdom Level: Attendance at next year's pre-event and post-event gatherings! Rub elbows with the speakers and organizers.
Of course, we appreciate a donation of any amount, which will help keep Darwin on the Palouse running strong for years to come. If you have any questions, please contact us on Twitter (@DarwinPalouse), Facebook (DarwinOnThePalouse) or by email at info@DarwinOnThePalouse.org.
Thanks everyone for your support!
