100% of your donations to Teen Foundation will go to Clean Water programs in Africa and Israel.
I applied to a well-regarded local teen program and was very lucky to be selected to be on the North Peninsula Jewish Community Teen Philanthropy Foundation (NPJCTF).
The Foundation is made up of 24 teens in the North Peninsula who are challenging themselves to raise money, research charities, and train themselves to be philanthropists and give back. I was a bit nervous and excited to join this group but from day one I knew it was the right decision. We have so much influence as teens and we are a hot commodity with lots of power and energy to make remarkable differences in the world.
I am writing to ask for your help. I have set a goal to raise $1,700 by 3/25/2011 for the Foundation and our group's goal is $45,000. We plan to give the money to charities that support clean water programs in Africa and Israel. We want to help this cause because water is vital to the survival of communities, neighborhoods and countries.
Your help would be greatly appreciated. I don't expect you to give lots of money - so you can breathe that sigh of relief but I was thinking that a gift of $35 would be wonderful. Please know that any amount higher or lower helps. The best part your donation goes directly to fund the organizations and projects the teens choose.
You probably get lots of requests for donations and I know how difficult it can be, so thanks for reading this letter and considering it. I am even going to start it off with my own $100 donation. I am 15 and I have been doing baseball umpiring for Little League and video game testing the past couple of years and have saved my money to buy things I need or want and to make donations.
Together we can make a huge positive impact in the lives of communities across the world. There is so much need in the world and I am just starting out and I am so eager to try to work hard at everything I do and to give back . Try and fail but don't fail to try!
