I am running Beach To Beacon to raise money for Day One, Maine's leading organization dealing with teen substance abuse.

Running has been my passion since I completed my first road race in third grade. I have decided this summer to employ my love of running to help a local non-profit organization.

Day One is based in South Portland, Maine, the town over from where my wife and I live and the town she works in. It is the leading organization in the state of Maine for teens dealing with drug and alcohol abuse.

Day One has been making a difference in the lives of youth for nearly 40 years. It has programs that address youth substance abuse issues through prevention, intervention, treatment and aftercare. This organization also provides training and education, assessment, screening, referrals and treatment for individuals, families, schools and communities throughout Maine.
