I want to help reduce freediver fatality by raising money for DiveWise.
For the past year I've been training to cycle across the USA from LA to Miami. It's a dream I've always had and I decided to combine my dream with helping a worthy cause.
I grew up spearfishing and freediving in Miami with my family - it's a way of life that we fully embrace and the fresh fish for supper is a great bonus. But after my brother David and I nearly died after blacking out on a 90 ft freedive, I realized there were serious risks in the sport and that my brother David and I were lucky to be alive.
After our accident, my mom started a non profit to share freedive safety education and I know this is a big need in the sport I love. About 60 freediver fatalities are reported annually, many of them in the US. DiveWise has become an international leader in furthering freedive safety and has helped other safety organizations get started in other countries. Right now the organization is involved in a several innovative safety initiatives and funds are needed to accomplish these goals. So I've made it my goal to help further dive safety through DiveWise. I'd really love to raise $5000.00 this charity with my cross-country bicycle ride. Please join me by giving whatever you can to help me reach this goal.
DiveWise is a 501 (c) (3) organization and your gift is tax deductible; you will receive a receipt you can submit with your taxes after you donate.
If you'd like to join my team and share this site with your own friends and business associates, that would be awesome.
Thanks so much for your support!
