Crossroads Adoption

Crossroads Adoption Services has been around since 1976. Originally started by a group of adoptive parents, Crossroads continues to assist individuals and couples as they look to start or expand their families. Our agency continues to strive to find permanent homes for as many children as we can, from all over the globe. Although Crossroads places many younger children in adoptive homes, we continue to work to recruit families for children who otherwise would grow up in institutions. Last year, Crossroads placed over 40 older children or children with special needs in permanent, loving homes. That means 40 older children or children with special needs will not find out what living in an orphanage until the age of 18 is like. It means that they will receive the love and attention from being part of a family. For many kids, it means they will receive the medical attention they desperately need. The picture above is an adorable little girl named Lucy who found a family and received the surgery she needed. Here is her story: I was born on January 18, 2007 in the Jiangxi Province of China. I had something called cleft lip and palate (third degree) that made it difficult to drink bottles. I lived in an orphanage for the first 15 months of my life. Then finally, my new mommy and daddy flew all the way over to China to get me. I went on a big plane to my new home. After I had been in my new home for a few months, my mommy and daddy took me to a hospital where this nice doctor fixed my cleft lip and palate. Now I can eat and drink easily. I can even use a sippy cup all by myself! At my house, I am pretty special. I have lots of grandparents, uncles, aunts and friends that make me smile and are so happy to meet me. Each day, I get to play with my two sisters. I love them very much (even if they take my toys away sometimes). This Holiday season, I got a wonderful present- the gift of a family.
