Your donation creates an opportunity for at-risk teens to build life and leadership skills at their first paid job.
The concept is simple. Teens want to earn money and in North Minneapolis, there are limited jobs. At Cookie Cart, teens earn their first paycheck and do so much more than make cookies. They are learning skills that will help them in work and in life.
Teens who work at Cookie Cart are EMPLOYMENT READY and learn CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS to solve problems in the bakery.
They set GOALS and work to accomplish them while practicing INTERPERSONAL SKILLS at cookie sales events in the community.
They CONNECT WITH NEW COMMUNITIES as they explore new fields, jobs and career opportunities.
During a recent work shift, a flour delivery from one of Cookie Cart’s partner organizations arrived. Omar, one of our newest youth employees, conceptualized an assembly line to use the numbers, not strength, to get the work done. Your donation gives teens like Omar new opportunities to develop as leaders. Thank you!
