CONCERNS OF POLICE SURVIVORS IL Chapter
The IL Chapter of C.O.P.S. provides comfort, healing and support for the Illinois family members of fallen law enforcement officers
The Illinois Chapter began their journey in the winter of 2004, after a gathering of survivors at the home of Al and Laurie Streicher, parents of fallen officer Adam Streicher. Parents, spouses, siblings, in-laws, significant others and co-workers came together at the invitation of Jennifer Morales, spouse of Marlon Morales. We had no merchandise, we had no funds, all we had was eachother. And so we began...
Today, the Illinois Chapter of COPS is one of the most vibrant chapters in the country. The chapter hosts an annual appreciation dinner every December, the annual Run to Remember in Peoria and the Cycle Across Illinois are just some of the events the chapter helps organize to support their survivors.
As a result of generous donors, the chapter is able to assist many of its survivors by assiting them with attending the retreats and programs offered by the national organization of COPS. There are programs for every family relationship, especially the children of fallen officers.
Please visit the Illinois COPS website to learn more about survivors in Illinois.
