Hey everyone! My name is Miranda, and I'm a Virginia Tech student. For spring break this year God blessed me with an amazing opportunity. I traveled to Managua, Nicaragua with a group of students from the VT chapter of the Nicaraguan Orphan Fund. While we were there we spent our time with children at Nueva Vida which is a hurricane refugee community. It was the most life changing week of my life, and the things I saw there, good and bad made a huge impact.
The people there are so joyful despite their hardships. Many of the children are malnourished and eat mostly just rice and beans. When children come to the feeding centers run by OrphaNetwork that serve the community, it is often the only meal they will receive that day. My heart now belongs to those kids who I got to serve and play with for the week I was there. The kids were such an inspiration to us and the situation that they are in broke our hearts so much that for 5 days (March 19th to the 23rd) we will be "suffering with" the children of Nueva Vida and eating only rice and beans. Please help us to raise funds for the children of Nueva Vida by donating to this awesome cause! It only takes $15 to feed a child for a month, and OrphaNetwork depends on people like you and me to help keep the feeding centers running. Any amount will help and will be used to support the feeding centers! Please help me to continue helping these kids who changed my life forever! Love you all!
