A project of The Saint Paul Foundation
Your gift helps individuals and families to remain self-sufficient.
Where would you turn if a sudden emergency caused financial hardship?
A unique community resource, Community Sharing Fund is an answer to these tough questions. Community Sharing Fund provides immediate and direct financial support—through its network of social service agencies—to individuals and families in the East Metro in order to stabilize housing, employment and, ultimately, promote economic independence and self-sufficiency. A small grant of $50 to $500 allows individuals and families to remain in their homes, jobs, and self-sufficient.
In 2011, Community Sharing Fund responded to over 3,500 requests for emergency assistance from over 100 different agencies in the East Metro. The program approved 1,969 grants totaling $792,056 and reached nearly 5,000 community members.

Theresa's story:
When an emergency car repair expense pushed this single mother of two beyond her budget and savings, Theresa called a local agency for support. Without hesitation, her agency stepped in to assist. Knowing her situation was temporary but critical to her ability to work, the agency quickly partnered with Community Sharing Fund to make an emergency grant and alleviate Theresa’s situation. With the assistance, Theresa never had to miss a day of work and was able to continue supporting her family.
