Community Stabilization Project 801 Selby Avenue fundraising for COMMUNITY STABILIZATION PROJECT
Your charitable contribution will help us prevent homelessness by preventing condemnations and foreclosures in the Twin Cities.
Close your eyes and imagine…one early Wednesday morning you wake up. You get your kids out of bed and you start the stove to heat water for breakfast. You need to hurry because the kids' bus comes in 30 minutes and you have to leave shortly after. All of a sudden you hear a knock. You open the door to a city inspector at your door handing you a notice that states, “24 hours to vacate”. Panic sets in, you find out your building is condemned because your landlord has failed to repair the units in his building. You think to yourself, “I’ve nowhere to go”, “this place is all we have”…..
Although this may seem like an unimaginable possibility to most, it’s a reality for many renters in St. Paul and Minneapolis. Homelessness is rising in the Twin Cities because condemnations and foreclosures continue to emerge for many low-income families. This year your help is needed more than ever. In the last couple of years, CSP has seen a sharp increase in the number of families that are being destabilized due to financial hardships. Calls from families have nearly doubled in recent months. One of the most disheartening facts is that we are seeing once vibrant communities now seriously dilapatated by our current economic downturn. Each night, approximately 9,000 Minnesotans experience homelessness. Approximately, one in 15 are families in peril of homelessness. Homelessness is a growing and serious problem.
In your charitable contributions, please help us ,Community Stabilization Project be there for families. On Tuesday, November 17, beginning at 8 am, We invite you to support the work that Community Stabilization Project is doing to prevent homelessness by contributing any amount you can.
