Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecologic cancer, affecting one in 55 women in her lifetime. Today more than 70% of ovarian cancer patients will die of their disease, compared to less than 20% of breast cancer patients. Unfortunately treatment options and survival have not improved greatly in over 40 years, in contrast to the impressive strides that have been made in raising awareness and improving treatment of other cancers. Most patients with ovarian cancer are treated with a one-size-fits all approach, and over 75% of the time the cancer recurs. Often, physicians will give the same treatment that failed the first time or choose another treatment at random.

In spite of these grim odds, we believe there is a strong reason for hope. Clearity’s mission is to help women make more informed treatment decisions with the goal of improving their lives and survival.
