2013 brought many new things to CURE - one being the debut of our new EVENTS & ADVENTURES program. Check below to see how you can help!

The focus of the EVENTS & ADVENTURES program is to provide multiple ways for our members and the greater community to experience the Upper Minnesota River Watershed.

The first year:

In 2013, we sponsored

  • 4 day and one over-night paddling events
  • birding near Renville
  • biking at Lac qui Parle State Park
  • a Mussel Field Day at Memorial Park outside of Granite Falls
  • a 'Girls Rule' fishing outing
  • a public forum on Clean Energy, Climate and Energy with polar explorer Will Steger and Fresh Energy's J.Drake Hamilton
  • Minnesota River History Paddling Theatre
  • invasive species identification hike at Prairie Smoke Nature Trail
  • Gneiss Outcrops S.N.A. hike near the Upper Sioux Agency State Park
  • DEEP ROOTS Better Together: A Celebration of Food, Community, and Landscape
  • 'We Celebrate the River' poetry and puppet show

How does CURE do this?

Many of these events are led by CURE members and others who volunteer their time and talents. Our program still has costs such as insurance, advertising, marketing and staff time.

What you can do?

Your contribution would go a long way in helping us to promote the stewardship and love of the Upper Minnesota River Valley.

Use the comments field to tell us if your want to designate your gift for a specific program. If there is not designation - we will use it for overall support of our programming.

For individuals who pledge a sustained gift - (monthly donation) You can choose between a hand carved fish ornament by Curt Soine or a 11 x 14 framed color print of "Rebecca's Clothes-Line" by CURE member John White. (Indicate which one you want in the comment box at checkout.)

For those contributing up to $75 - You can choose between a CURE t-shirt or a CURE baseball cap (Indicate preference and size in the comment box at checkout.)

For gifts of $125 or more - We have CURE member, Jim VanDerPol's book "Conversations with the LAND" or river valley author and poet Florence Dacey's book "Rock Worn by Water". (Indicate your preference at checkout)

For gifts of $200 or more you may receive a gift card for a Minnesota State Park Pass.

Thank you for your support !
