Save the Animals Foundation is a progressive no-kill shelter in Cincinnati focused on innovative ways to solve the homeless pet issue.

Giselle, a beautiful, gentle Maine Coon mix, lived happily with an elderly man for 8 years. She was the joy of his life, giving him companionship, affection, and purpose. When he passed away, she became one of thousands of homeless pets at a county shelter, scheduled for euthanasia.

Nora had been homeless for some time when she was found wandering the streets. Her coat was matted to her skin, she was bone-thin, and afraid of the traffic and noise around her. Like Giselle, she was just one of thousands who needed a home, so was scheduled to be put to sleep in a county shelter.

Like most large cities, the Cincinnati area has a large population of homeless pets. Last year alone over 20,000 dogs and cats were taken in by area shelters & rescue groups, and thousands more still live "on the street".

But the good news is that Cincinnati is a progressive community of action-oriented people, ready tackle the issue head-on with innovative ideas! With nearly 30 shelters and rescue groups in our area, and countless animal-loving individuals, we're working together to ensure no pet is homeless, and our community becomes completely no-kill.

You can help! Cincinnati's own Save The Animals Foundation (STAF) No-kill Shelter & Adoption Center has been chosen to represent our city on June 14, for the Twive & Receive Giving Day, hosted by razoo.com. As one of the largest shelters in the country with over 600 dogs and cats, STAF steps in for pets just like Nora and Giselle every day, with rescue, emergency care, socialization, and adoption.

Your online donation on June 14 will help ensure more of Cincinnati's homeless pets get the help they need. Please, for animals like Giselle and Nora, donate and be part of the solution in our Purrific and Wagtastic community!

(And see how we're doing throughout the campaign at www.staf.org! Thank you so much for your support!)
