Children's Ministry

You couldn't imagine how many young couples and families are unchurched in and around the city of St. Louis. Many grew up in church and then for one reason or another walked away. It is our desire to reach those families with the Gospel and to get them plugged into the community of August Gate. One of the hinderanes to families with young children is having to keep them quiet and entertained during a church service. At the same time, most parents are not ready and willing to drop off their children with complete strangers in a room that resembles a dungeon or that they might not think is quite safe.

It is our desire to have a fully functioning, safe, secure, fun, aesthetically pleasing area for parents to send their children during our Sunday worship service. This means toys, floor mats, check-in system, background checks for every volunteer, and other resources that will make parents comfortable and excited to drop their kids off during worship.

At the same time, we want our kids and the kids of those who are guests at August Gate to be drawn to Jesus and just like the everything else at August Gate, we want it to be Gospel-centered. From the music that is playing to lessons from the Jesus Storybook Bible, we want to see children growing in the gospel.
