CHEVY'S HOPE FOUNDATION

Helping the victims of abuse and neglect is the cornerstone of what we do. That is why The McLeod Alliance for Victims of Domestic Violence and Chevy's Hope Foundation have partnered to provide more support for this troubling problem in our area. Recently, the state of Minnesota has passed a law that enables us to do even more. Animals are often used as tools against victims to manipulate and control them. The abuser will torture the animal and tell the victim that is what will happen to them, or that they will kill or hurt the pet if the victim tries to leave.Now, Chevys Hope can help. If someone needs to get out of their abusive, violent situation, we will provide a safe haven for their pet while they get situated and have the capacity to take their animal back into their family. We provide short term housing for the animal and often medical care if the animal has already been hurt. This partnership is only half of what we do. We also focus on those animals that have been victims themsleves and we work closely with rescue organizations to provide medical care for those animals. Once they are healed, the rescue finds a wonderful forever home for them. This is how we proudly support the animal-human bond.
