The Young Leaders Program, Pacific Forum's signature next-generation leadership effort, has enjoyed tremendous growth since it was founded in 2004, over 530 Young Leaders from 40 countries have joined Pacific Forum CSIS programs, participating in Policymaking firsthand. They have had the opportunity to learn from, and dialogue with, seasoned security policy experts, while building their own professional knowledge, skills, and network.
Pacific Forum CSIS President, Ralph Cossa, has challended us to raise $5,000 from the Young Leaders before the 2014 Board of Governors' dinner on February 25th. If we can meet the challenge, Ralph and other PacForum donors will then personally triple match each Young Leader donation. This money, hopefully at least $20,000 in total after matching will go towards starting a Young Leaders endowment fund. We plan to build the endowment so that in the future the well-being of the program won't be so vulnerable to the vagaries of year-on-year grant funding environment which is getting ever more difficult to secure.
Support for the Young Leaders Program today is an investment in a peace divident for tomorrow.
