Help us Build Out our Clothing Closet and Build Up our Clothing Fund!

  • What if you were a young Alexandria mother of 3, coming out of an abusive relationship? Winter is approaching, the children are growing....
  • What if you were a junior in high school and living with a foster family? One of the medications you are taking is making you gain a considerable amount of weight. Your foster care clothing allowance for the year has already been spent.....
  • What if your son is a toddler, your husband is out of work and you are living in a room in your cousin’s overcrowded house? A nurse makes a home visit and recommends that you get a potty seat for your little one and pull-up diapers....

Did you know that diapers, toilet paper, OTC medications and toothpaste are not covered by food stamps?

This year, the Center for Alexandria's Children is partnering with the Fund for Alexandria's Child, a program of the Department of Community & Human Services, that works to enhance the quality of life of foster children and children at risk of abuse and neglect by promoting community awareness, involvement and resource development. The FUND provides access to activities like dance, art or karate lessons, summer camping, school field trips, scouting and team sports.

With the FUND, we will be building out our Clothing Closet and building up our Clothing Fund, allowing parents and older youth privacy, proper fit, support from social workers, and empowerment and dignity.

Turn those white walls into a Clothing Closet and Clothing Fund for children in foster care and at-risk of abuse & neglect!

Won't you help the Center for Alexandria's Children and the Fund for Alexandria's Child provide these critical resources to our communities' most vulnerable?
