Melanie Popowich (Melanie Callan) was extraordinarily passionate about encouraging others to strive for their dreams and live the best lives possible. One of the ways that she did this was through her work with Global Mamas and Women in Progress. She loved working with the women entrepreneurs and producers in Ghana to help them build their businesses and improve their quality of life.

One specific project that she was very excited about working on was the purchase of land to build a Global Mamas Fair Trade Campus in Ghana. This campus would house fair trade production sites for apparel, accessories, jewelry and skin care that would create jobs and empower women. Not only would these jobs provide sustainable income but the format of the campus would encourage community and self-betterment through life skills and job training programs.

The purchase of this land and the future Fair Trade Campus will be a legacy of Melanie's impact on Global Mamas and all of our lives and a celebration of her incredible spirit.
