Casa Guadalupana is a home for Latina women and their families who are temporarily homeless, in crisis or unable to meet their basic needs.
GROUNDED IN THE BEATITUDE SPIRIT OF DOROTHY DAY AND THE CATHOLIC WORKER MOVEMENT, CASA GUADALUPANA'S CORE MISSION IS TO BE A WELCOMING PLACE THAT AFFIRMS THE EQUAL GOD-GIVEN DIGNITY OF EVERY PERSON.
WE OFFER HOSPITALITY AND SUPPORT TO THOSE UNABLE TO MEET THEIR FAMILY'S MOST BASIC HUMAN NEEDS, WELCOMING THEM TO LIVE AS FAMILY WITH US WHILE THEY STABILIZE THEIR INDIVIDUAL SITUATION.
WE USE OUR VOICE TO ADVOCATE FOR THOSE UNABLE TO DO SO FOR THEMSELVES AND ATTEMPT TO BUILD BRIDGES BETWEEN THOSE WHO ARE SUFFERING AND THOSE WHO WILL HELP IF GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO.
WE STRIVE TO LIVE OUT OUR STATED MISSION BY:
Values: As Casa community, we are commited to the values of compassionate action, simplicity, and solidarity with the poor. Inspired by the ordinary saints among us daily, we actively seek the continued grace of being in their presence. We know that Christ great loved the poor and attempt to stay close to Him through our association with them.
Service: Casa Guadalupana is a home for Latina women and their families who are temporarily homeless, in crisis or unable to meet their most basic human needs. In a loving, faith-inspired home guests who are marginalized by language, immigration or cultural barriers find bi-lingual and culturally appropriate support to improve their family's self-sufficiency. Casa volunteers provide mentoring to strengthen guests' confidence and skills to meet their individually established goals.
Outreach: Casa Guadalupana provides outreach and advocacy to immigrants who may easily fall through the cracks of traditional community social services. We offer educational opportunities to the broader community about the realities of poverty, hunger and migration. We foster systemic change through our collaborations with other faithful people in the social justice community.
EVERYTHING CASA GUADALUPANA DOES HAPPENS THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF OTHERS. WE RECEIVE NO GOVERNMENT FUNDING.
